Why are you doing this?

So you're seriously going to tweet an entire book?
Cool, but just one quick question....
why?
  1. First and foremost: I think it's a neat idea. A lot of people don't read books anymore, but nearly everyone spends lots of time on social media apps everyday. By tweeting an entire book in a year, with around 10 tweets per day, Mock_Twain reminds people that reading doesn't have to be a burden.
  2. So far as I know it's never been done before. (at least, not quite like this)
  3. It's an experiment in presenting old content within a new medium. I'm not suggesting Twitter is an appropriate place for long-form literature, but it's worth exploring the artistic/literary value of this form of mass communication.
  4. I'm using it as an excuse to learn new technologies (e.g. python, the twitter API, the dropbox API, playing with a RaspberryPi, etc)
